“SAIEX” Flameproof Push Button Control Station is a compact electrical control device that contains one or more push buttons, selector switches, and indicator lamps within a flameproof (explosion-proof) enclosure, specifically designed for use in hazardous areas where flammable gases, vapors, or dust may be present.

It allows operators to control machinery or equipment locally, such as starting or stopping motors, activating alarms, or selecting operational modes, while ensuring that any sparks, arcs, or internal explosions generated within the enclosure do not ignite the surrounding explosive atmosphere.

Flameproof means the enclosure is designed to contain an internal explosion and cool escaping gases so they cannot ignite external flammable substances.

How It Works

The control station houses push buttons, selector switches, emergency stop buttons, and pilot lamps inside a robust flameproof enclosure.

• Electrical cables enter the station through Ex d cable glands.
• Pressing a push button or turning a selector switch mechanically actuates internal contacts or sends signals to control relays, contactors, or PLC inputs.
• Any sparks or arcs generated during operation are contained within the flameproof enclosure.
• The enclosure’s flame paths cool any hot gases before they escape, ensuring that the surrounding hazardous atmosphere is not ignited.
• Some stations are modular, allowing multiple push buttons and indicators in a single compact assembly for local control of machinery.
