“SAIEX” Flameproof Heater Enclosure is a heavy-duty protective housing designed to safely contain an electric heater that operates in hazardous (explosive) atmospheres.

Its purpose is to:

• Prevent ignition of surrounding flammable gases or vapors
• Contain internal sparks, arcs, or explosions
• Allow heat to be used safely in dangerous areas

Important:
“Flameproof” means the enclosure contains an internal explosion and prevents flame transmission to the outside atmosphere.

How It Works

Construction Features

• Thick metal enclosure (cast aluminum or stainless steel)
• Precisely machined flame paths (threaded joints or flanges)
• Explosion-proof cable entries (Ex d glands)
• Internal electric heater element
• Thermostat / temperature limiter
• High IP rating (IP65 / IP66 / IP67)

Working Principle

1. Electric power is supplied to the heater inside the enclosure.
2. The heater generates heat for:
   • Space heating
   • Process heating
   • Preventing condensation or freezing
3. If a fault occurs causing:
   • Spark
   • Arc
   • Overheating
4. Any ignition inside the enclosure:
   • Is fully contained
   • Hot gases escape only through flame paths
   • Gas temperature drops below ignition level
5. The surrounding hazardous atmosphere remains safe.
