How It Works
The unit consists of a sound-producing mechanism (hooter or sounder) and a high-intensity flasher or beacon, both housed in flameproof enclosures or in a single certified flameproof assembly.
When electrical power is applied, the hooter generates a loud audible signal while the flasher emits intermittent or continuous light. During operation, any electrical arcing, switching spark, or overheating remains confined inside the flameproof enclosure. If ignition occurs internally, the enclosure withstands the explosion, and the flame paths cool escaping gases so that the external hazardous atmosphere is not ignited.
Where Flameproof Hooter with Flasher Are Used
Flameproof hooter with flasher units are used in hazardous locations where both audible and visual warning is required for safety.
Typical IndustriesOil and Gas plants, Petrochemical industries, Chemical processing units, Refineries, Fertilizer plants, Power plants, Paint and solvent handling areas, Mining, Pharmaceutical plants with solvent handling zones.
Typical Applications
Emergency and evacuation alarms, Gas leak detection systems, Fire and explosion warning systems, Process fault and shutdown alerts, Equipment trip indication, Safety signaling in high-noise hazardous areas.

“SAIEX” Flameproof Hooter is an audible alarm device enclosed in a flameproof (explosion-proof) housing, designed to operate safely in hazardous areas where flammable gases or vapors may be present.
It produces a loud warning sound to alert personnel during emergency, fault, or abnormal conditions, while ensuring that any internal spark, heat, or explosion generated by the device does not ignite the surrounding explosive atmosphere.
“Flameproof” means the enclosure can withstand and contain an internal explosion and prevent flame propagation to the outside environment.

How It WorksA flameproof hooter contains an electromagnetic, electronic, or motor-driven sound-producing unit housed inside a robust flameproof enclosure.
When electrical power is applied, the internal mechanism generates sound vibrations that are amplified through a horn or sound outlet. During operation, any electrical switching, arcing, or overheating remains confined within the enclosure. If ignition occurs internally, the flameproof housing contains the explosion, and the hot gases are cooled as they pass through the flame paths, ensuring that the external hazardous atmosphere is not ignited.

How It Works
The unit consists of a sound-producing hooter mechanism and an indicating lamp or pilot light, both mounted inside a flameproof enclosure or in separately certified flameproof sections.
When electrical power is applied, the hooter generates an audible alarm and the indicating lamp illuminates to show the status or type of condition. The lamp may remain steady, flash through an external circuit, or indicate different conditions using color coding. Any electrical switching, arcing, or overheating remains confined inside the flameproof enclosure. In the event of internal ignition, the enclosure withstands the explosion and flame paths cool escaping gases, preventing ignition of the external hazardous atmosphere.
Where Flameproof Hooter with Indicating Lamp Are Used
These units are used in hazardous environments where audible alert and visual status indication are both required.
Typical IndustriesOil and Gas installations, Petrochemical plants, Chemical processing units, Refineries, Fertilizer plants, Power generation stations, Paint and solvent handling areas, Mining operations, Pharmaceutical plants with solvent zones.
Typical Applications
Process alarm annunciation, Equipment fault indication, Machine trip alarms, Emergency warning systems, Control panel status indication, Safety signaling in hazardous locations with moderate noise levels.
